What is a good dress i could wear to a wedding?

i was just in a wedding and anything from a formal skirt and shirt to a nice dress that is in your own style. one that you could wear again. maybe you will be in the ceremony maybe not. because i was just in a wedding and they didn't ask me until a few months after the engagement. wait for a while.
