Would it be dangerous to go to Cuba?

I have family in Cuba I apparently have never met, and my grandmother said she wants to go to Cuba to see them. I was thinking about going with her, but I was wondering, being a 23 year old girl, if going to Cuba would be too dangerous for me, even to see family. I believe she goes to Havana.
